The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), an advocacy group, has tasked newly appointed Board Member of Post Primary School Management Board (PPSMB), Mr Chukwuma Okenwa, on youth value reorientation.
The National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu, gave the task while speaking with newsmen on the importance of Okenwa’s appointment to the POCACOV campaign.
It would be recalled that Okenwa was officially appointed a board member (Member 1) of PPSMB by Enugu State Government a week ago.
Amaaizu, while congratulating Okenwa who is also POCACOV Ambassador, noted that the appointment was well deserved as he remained an outstanding youth role model in the state.
According to him, Okenwa, the Executive Director of LEAD Network Africa, has associated himself with many POCACOV Programmes on youth value reorientation and self discovery for strategic leadership direction.
He said: “I want to also remind him that the battle against cultism and other vices is not yet won.
“I charge him to continue to remain focus especially on the implementation of those elements that promote the POCACOV framework on ‘Our Children Must Thrive Programme’.
“We want him to use instrumentality of POCACOV in My School programme since PPSMB is charged with responsibility of ensuring excellence in the public schools in line with the community policing framework of the Nigeria Police for a better society.”
Responding, Okenwa said that he was excited and humbled to be appointed as a Board Member in PPSMB by the state government.
“I count it an opportunity to network with other technocrats in ensuring that public secondary schools are positioned to function optimally.
“I thank His Excellency, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for this opportunity to serve,” he said. (Flowerbudnews)
