OPC killed nine cow dealers in Kwara – Gan Allah Fulani Association

Chairman of the Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria, Kwara State chapter, Ali Mohammed Jounwiro, has appealed to the state government and security agencies to check the Odua Peoples Congress, OPC, members from taking the law into their hands.

Reacting in Ilorin on Saturday to the bloody clash between cow dealers and members of the OPC at Kaara market in Ajasse-Ipo, Kwara State, on Friday, the chairman claimed that nine people were killed by the OPC members in the incident while 450 cows were lost.

Ali Mohammed alleged that while many people were injured in the bloody clash, over N6m was stolen by the OPC members in the clash.

He however, appealed to the Fulani cow dealers to remain calm and desist from taking the law into their hands.

recalls that a bloody clash broke out on Friday at Kaara market between cow dealers and Odua Peoples Congress, OPC members which led to loss of lives.

 

However, while the state police command through the spokesman, Okasanmi Ajayi, confirmed four deaths, the Fulani association has reported that nine persons died in the incident.

 

The police spokesman disclosed that the incident occurred when a stray cow in the Kaara market damaged the side mirror of one of the 20 vehicles conveying the OPC members who were coming from Osogbo, Osun state to Kwara state.

 

Okasanmi confirmed that dangerous weapons including guns were used by both parties in the bloody clash.
